Grant Aided Managing Authority Expresses Gratitude as Government Commits to 100% Funding

Shortly after Minister Fonseca’s announcement in the House, the Grant Aided Managing Authority of Schools issues a press release of gratitude to the government, and the decision to pass the hundred percent bill.  According to GAMAS, government’s decision is an acknowledgement of sorts of the hard work of teachers at the grant-aided institutions.  According to the authority, it was back in 2019 that a 12-page document was presented to the then Minister of Education, requesting 100% pension on behalf of our teachers, as well as a review of the roles and responsibilities of the Teaching Services Commission, among other requests.  While some demands were met, for GAMAS, today marks a significant milestone for them.  Looking ahead, GAMAS says there are several other issues that require urgent attention and collaboration with the government.
