An armed robber made off with an undisclosed amount of money from a shop in Roaring Creek Village. Correspondent Fem Cruz has the story.
“Based on information received of an armed robbery sometime around 1:45 p.m. yesterday afternoon Love News visited Chun Green Shop located on Cooperative Avenue in Roaring Creek Village and saw the police and a number of customers. Jerome Chun the owner of the establishment told Love News what happened.”
“Sometime around 1:45 I was in Belmopan of an armed robbery that just happened. I quickly called the police and by the time I arrived here the police were already here and we reviewed our cameras to see what transpired. A guy with a white t-shirt over his head came from the back street and quickly walked in on my employee who was here by himself at the time along with my son and he came with a gun and aimed at my employee. My employee saw a couple seconds before through the camera managed to run to the back and so the thief quickly got in, took a black cash box here that contained approximately $300 in cash and some cash from my drawer and made good his escape from the same direction he came from.”

“What do you think you need to do or what other people in this village need to do to secure the little that they have knowing that its Christmas time and for sure the thieves are out there looking for what they can pick on.”
“Well I guess on my part I have to see what other security measures I can take. I have my cameras there but I guess for the Christmas season I will be getting extra security and also with regards to this incident if anybody has any information in regards to this maybe they can call the police with whatever information they have at 802-0402 or 607-7652.”
