Group Charged with Burglary of Belize City Home

A group of seven people, five adults and two minors have been charged with the burglary of a Belize City home. The group consisted of 36-year-old, Earl August, 23-year-old Jarren Martinez, 24-year-old Robert McClaren, 22-year-old Kyle Cadle, and 28-year-old Glenford Lewis along with the minors, ages 13 and 17. In court Martinez, who is an alleged mental patient, pleaded guilty to the charge but the court did not accept his plea, pending the outcome of a psychiatric evaluation. The remainder of the group pleaded not guilty and were all offered bail in the sum of three thousand dollars plus two sureties of fifteen hundred dollars each. Martinez was the only one not able to meet bail. The group are due back in court on December 23. The burglary allegedly occurred on T- Street on October 22.
