Guilty Verdict: Lincoln Bejerano Convicted of Murder After Lengthy Trial

Lincoln Bejerano was found guilty of murder this morning in the Belmopan High Court.  Bejerano was charged in 2016 for the murder of cab driver, Isidro Suar, who was found dead in the Puccini area of Belmopan on January 8, 2016.  The murder trial was dragged out due to many factors, including Bejerano escape from police custody in October 2016.  He was at the courthouse when he asked to use the bathroom, and subsequently escaped and fled to Guatemala. When he got in trouble with the law on that side of the border, he was charged and handed over to the Belize Police in May 2019.  The 33-year-old appears numerous times in our news archives for crimes ranging from robbery to burglary, and from escaping police detention to murder.  In the year 2016 alone, Bejerano was fingered for robbing a woman of her vehicle in January.  In that same month, he was charged with aggravated robbery of stealing an Isuzu D-Max at gunpoint in Armenia Village, Cayo District.
