Guilty Verdicts in A&R Store Robbery Case

Twenty-one-year-old, Keon Budnah, is on remand at the Belize Central Prison pending sentencing after he was found guilty of robbery. On Tuesday, Budna was found guilty of the 2019-armed robbery of the Belize City A and R store located on the Philip Goldson highway. The co-accused in the case, Haldwin Castillo, who reportedly absconded whilst out on bail, was found guilty in his absence. Budnah’s sentencing hearing has been set for September 29. The robbery took place on Saturday, May 25, 2019. Police arrived on the scene while the two robbers were trying to escape and apprehended them after an exchange of gunfire. At the trial, one of the prosecution’s key pieces of evidence was surveillance footage that captured the robbery in its entirety.
