Gwen Lizarraga High School Provides Care Package to Community Member on National Service Day

Gwen Lizarraga High School as part of their annual activities for National Service Day, put a care package together with groceries and other perishable items, to give to someone in need in their community. This year’s recipient was former freelance court news reporter sixty-nine-year-old Roy Davis. Earlier this year, Davis suffered a career-ending stroke. Ezekiel Herbert, a Metal Work Teacher at Gwen Lizarraga High School, and his group of first-form students spoke on their initiative and how they felt lending a helping hand to Davis.

Davis said that he is overjoyed that after several months of therapy, he is able to walk again.
