Hattieville teacher goes missing

A teacher from Rural Belize is missing, and the public is asked to report any information about her whereabouts. Thirty-four-year-old Sharlette Jacobs, a resident of Hattieville Village, was last seen this morning wearing long blue jeans pants and a white T-shirt. The educator is believed to have vanished less than twelve hours ago and has not returned home. Given the short space of time, today, ASP Fitzroy Yearwood weighed on whether Jacobs’ family should have waited twenty-four hours before reporting her missing.

ASP Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Department, Press Officer: “If you believe someone’s life is in danger or that person is missing like it was reported earlier we immediately activate our search parties and our search team. We don’t ask anyone to wait for any twelve or twenty four or forty eight hours we treat missing person reports as urgent as possible.”
