For the past four weeks, the number of COVID-19 cases has been on the increase. Twenty-four new COVID-19 cases were confirmed today, increasing the number of active cases to 252. No new deaths have been reported, but Minister of Health, Michel Chebat during a press conference today says they are very much concerned.
Michel Chebat, Minister of Health and Wellness: “As of yesterday June 29th 2021 we have recorded 234 active cases in our country. Yesterday we recorded 38 new positive COVID cases, we have 5 active hospitalizations and 1 ICU admission. Ladies and gentlemen I wish to remind you that testing is ongoing and at all of our public health facilities. If you have minor symptoms please go and get tested. It is important for you to know you status. Additionally please continue to adhere to the public health measures. Wear your masks, wash your hands and keep your distance. BAHA has been helping us with the testing and the sampling so they are in operation. In terms of the exact number of beds and ventilators I don’t have those numbers with me but I’d be happy to share them with you later on probably through an email or a Whatsapp.”
