HelpAge Hosts Arts and Crafts Exhibition in Belize City

HelpAge Belize held a special exhibition in Belize City today to showcase the work of the golden citizens in their arts and crafts program. Vividly colored decorations and trinkets that were skillfully hand-crafted lined tables at HelpAge’s Belize City branch today, for school children and visiting members of the public to see. HelpAge, which is dedicated to bettering the lives of older people, has been hosting arts and crafts classes for over 20 years, teaching its clients how to make decorations. Marilyn Ordonez, Belize City Branch Chairperson for HelpAge, says that the arts and crafts program remains one of the core activities because of the benefits it brings to older persons.

Some of the pieces are for sale, and Ordonez encourages the public to purchase them as the funds help to provide services to older persons.

The arts and crafts program is also held at the nine adult day activity centers countrywide.
