Home in the culture capital gutted by fire

Last night a home belonging to a teacher from the Culture Capital was destroyed by fire. The blaze broke out just before midnight on Ramos Road in the New Site area of Dangriga Town. At the time of the fire, no one was at home. Fire personnel extinguished the fire but not before it completely gutted the wooden bungalow structure. According to Kenneth Mortis, Station Supervisor at the National Fire Service, the cause of the fire is believed to be the result of an electrical fault.

Kenneth Mortis, Station Supervisor, National Fire Service: “Last night the Dangriga Fire Department responded to a structural fire in the new site area, Ramos Rd where they observed a wooden bungalow structure engulfed in flames. That fire was extinguished. While the information was a bit sketchy, we learnt that no one occupied the structure at the time even though it was registered to a teacher, Ms. Nadine. We learnt that that fire started as a result of an electrical flaw. However, for further confirmation, the team is still on the ground trying to confirm what led the house fire to be an electrical flaw. I am hoping that we can confirm that before the end of today.”
