A resident of Georgeville Village in the Cayo District was the victim of a home invasion which occurred in the still of the night. It was about one o’clock this morning when 42 year-old Anna Myvette woke up and found a stranger in her bedroom. The intruder’s head was covered with a white shirt and he was armed with a gun. According to the head of the National Crimes Investigation Branch, Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett, the burglar pointed a gun at Ana and forced her to remain in the bed while another male person started to search the home.
ACP Joseph Myvett – Head N.C.I.B.: “This morning Anna Myvette 42 years of Georgeville Village reported to San Ignacio Police that sometime shortly after 1 AM this morning whilst inside her home sleeping she was awaken by a male person who placed an object to her head which she believed was a gun, at the time the person was wearing a white cloth covering his face. Herself and her daughter were the only persons at home, during the process she was robbed of her cellphone and other belongings before those persons made good their escape. There were apparently two assailants that had entered the home, so far the scene was processed and police are seeking several persons in relation to this investigation. What happened is that there are very close neighbors in the home and there is another house which is just adjacent to that one. At that point in time I believe that there is another minor who lives at the home as well.”
The men stole phones, cash and their peace of mind. Myvette and her 19-year-old daughter were not physically harmed during the incident.
