Home Invasion Strikes Belize City Family: Armed Bandits Rob Residents at Gunpoint

A Belize City family was the victim of a home invasion last week. The incident happened Friday night as the family gathered inside their York Street Home. Just before nine o’clock, Derone Lucario, his wife, and three children were inside their home when two men stormed in through their front door. The armed bandits then held the family at gunpoint and robbed them of several valuables. Assistant Commissioner of Police Hilberto Romero says the men then escaped on bicycles toward Victoria Street.

ACP Hilberto Romero, Officer Commanding Eastern Division: “Deron Locario 40 years Belizean of York Street reported that he was at home when two persons armed with firearms entered his house. They proceeded to hold him up and then they searched the house and they stole an amount of cash, jewelry and a cellphone. The two male persons then fell from the area on bicycles. We are seeking two suspects in regard to this report.”
