Hon. Julius Espat explains his contentions with redistricting draft report

Cabinet Minister and Area Representative for Cayo South, Julius Espat, has explained further his contentions with the Redistricting Draft Report.  The minister made an appearance on Vibes Media on Monday where he simplified his concerns, and also noted that everyone must be cautious of how litigious our society has become.

Espat went on to say that there is no argument that there needs to be a redistricting exercise.  He did say, however, that it has to be practical in terms of the geography of the divisions, among other factors.

The final Re-division report of the Election and Boundaries Commission has been prepared and submitted to the House of Representatives.  The final report is proposing to maintain 31 constituencies, with two less in the Belize District; one additional division in the Cayo District, and an additional one in the Stann Creek District.
