Police in San Pedro are also looking into a house fire that occurred just after ten o’clock on Saturday morning.  The fire broke out in the San Mateo Area of the island, and destroyed a small plywood structure, measuring 17 x 29 feet.  The occupants of the house were 56-year-old, Bernardo Pastor; his common-law-wife, Leticia Chimilio and their two children.  Acording to Pastor, they were at a nearby lagoon fishing when they heard the sirens and saw the smoke.  The family followed the smoke, and found that it was their house on fire.  The contents and the house structure were not insured, and was valued by the owner at around fifty thousand dollars.  The house had no electricity, and the family was reportedly using solar energy.  Love News understands that initial investigations suggest that the fire had started from the dining room area.
