Human remains were found over the weekend in western Belize. Police were called out to an area in the Black Rock Area near Benque Viejo Del Carmen Town where they encountered the remains. Assistant Commissioner of Police Joseph Myvett briefed the media on its preliminary investigations.
ACP Joseph Myvette, Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “The skeletal remains of seemingly a male person was found. The scene was processed and the remains were removed and transported to the medical lab where it is awaiting a post mortem examination. The remains from the investigation seem to have been out there for some time and we do believe that it was the flood waters some two months ago that had brought it on shore where it was found.”
