These images show the water section in Walmart in Mira Mar, Florida, as residents have begun to stock up in preparation for Hurricane Dorian. There are thousands of Belizeans living in Florida and tonight those relatives and friends are bracing themselves for a category four hurricane. A press release from the Consulate of Belize in Florida urged residents to take all the necessary precautions to be safe. All warnings should be heeded, and residents should evacuate if required by the relevant officials. The latest forecast on Hurricane Dorian shows the powerful storm will strengthen over the coming days and has the potential to become a Category 4 as it barrels toward the southeastern United States. It’s still too soon to tell exactly where the storm will make landfall along Florida’s east coast. According to the Hurricane Centre, there is an increasing likelihood of life-threatening storm surge along portions of the Florida east coast late this weekend or early next week.
