Hydrological Service: “potential for flooding NATIONALLY”

The National Hydrological Service tonight is also warning that there’s a chance there will be national flooding and residents in low-lying areas are to be vigilant and exercise extreme caution. In addition to the flash flood watch in the south, rivers in the north, central and west of the country are under flood watch. This means the Macal, Mopan and Belize Rivers and their tributaries are being monitored very closely. Principal Hydrologist Tennielle Hendy explained the situation further.

The Hydrological Unit has also placed the Sarstoon River in the south on a flood warning.
