Illegal cattle ranching in belize could lead the way for drug trafficking

The Friends for Conservation (FCD) also gave an update on the illegal cattle ranching that has been affecting the outskirts of Belize’s Western border, which was found to be inhabited by Guatemalan poachers. FCD has worked tirelessly with the BDF to clear the Chiquibul Area, which was most vulnerable to this type of activity. FCD’s Executive Director, Rafael Manzanero, spoke with Love News, via Zoom and he says that while they have managed to significantly reduce the poaching problem, the cattle ranches that remain pose a different threat.

Tomorrow, we will tell you how these cattle ranches have contributed to several devastating forest fires in the past years.
