Indian Creek Bids Farewell: Mother and Son Laid to Rest Following Monkey River Tragedy

30-year-old Manuela Emerita Garbutt and her son Ellis Garbutt were laid to rest today in Indian Creek, Toledo. The mother and son are two of the three victims in the Monkey River shooting that occurred on December 14. As for the father, Ellis Garbutt Sr., he will be laid to rest on Sunday in Monkey River. The triple homicide took place on December 14 where Curtis Molina allegedly killed the couple, and their 3-year-old son, and injured their 11-year-old daughter. Molina reportedly ambushed Garbutt and his family as they headed home on the Monkey River Road. It is believed that Molina placed several trees in the middle of the road and lured the 39-year-old out of his SUV and opened fire on the family with a shotgun.  Molina has since been charged with 3 counts of murder in the fatal shooting.
