Indian Creek Village Residents to Protest Against Former Alcalde: Dispute Over Leadership Continues

Residents of Indian Creek Village in the Toledo District are planning a protest this evening against their former alcalde. The villagers say that they went through the process of having the alcalde replaced late last year, but he refuses to acknowledge that he has been replaced. The villagers say he has been trying to carry out his former functions and the last straw was when he called an emergency meeting for this evening. According to the spokesperson for the recently Chairman, Alselmo Cholom, explained the villagers collectively decided to replace the alcalde because he was opposing developments in the village.

Cholom says that if the situation persists the villagers will be reaching out to the Ministry of Local Government to request its intervention. Love News reached out to Minister of Local Government Oscar Requena this morning, but he was unavailable for comment. We’ll keep following this story./
