Interim Appointment at Belize City Hall Following Administrator’s Tragic Death

In the wake of the death of the Belize City Administrator, the City Council’s Director of Administration, Sharlene Rudon, has been appointed as an interim.  Currently, the City Administrator is holding the fort at City Hall until the recently elected council is sworn in.  The announcement came earlier today from City Hall, indicating that the Ministry of Local Government made the appointment designed to take effect immediately and to remain in effect until the recently elected council appoints a new City Administrator after their taking the oath of office in the coming days. Mayor-Elect Bernard Wagner says it is too early to even think about a substantive replacement for the City Administrator.

Rudon has been employed at City Hall for over three decades, and brings a wealth of experience and expertise to her new role
