International Basketball Scouting Event Launches to Spotlight Belizean Talent

Today marked the inaugural International Basketball Scouting Event hosted by the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The event brought together basketball talent from various parts of the country. Love News spoke with Minister of State at the Ministry of Youth and Sports, Devin Daly who explained that the event aims at spotlighting young athletes and open doors to regional and international opportunities.

For athlete, Tevonne Dawson, this event served as a source of motivation. Dawson is no stranger to the basketball scene in Belize and starred on the International U17 and U18 teams. Dawson said that his goal is to play sports abroad and eventually get his education through it.

Plans are already underway to make the scouting event an annual fixture.
