International Women’s Day Celebrated Globally, Acknowledging Women’s Rights and Achievements

Women worldwide are being celebrated today for International Women’s Day. It is a day that is celebrated annually on March 8 as a focal point in the women’s rights movement. The day focuses on issues such as gender equality, reproductive rights, and violence and abuse against women. Special Envoy for the Development of Families and Children Rossana Briceno sends a message of hope to all women.
