Investigators probe into the death of Richard Thurton

Today, the police confirmed that they are looking into the death of an elderly man whose family says was beaten to death. Two weeks ago, 60-year-old Richard Thurton was found badly beaten in front of his home in Belize City. According to his family, the elderly man was attacked and beaten inside his home at the corner of Fairweather Street and Neals Penn Road. Thurton initially spent days in a coma and was fighting for his life but ultimately succumbed to the injuries he received. Assistant Superintendent of Police, Fitzroy Yearwood, shared additional details. 

ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Police Department Press Officer: “I know that a post mortem examination was conducted, this is a resident of #51 corner Neals Penn Road and Fairweather Street. Where in the post mortem it revealed that he died from blunt trauma and several bruises were observed to his body. I know that we at the police department are investigating the cause of his death and as soon as we have information that also will be shared with you.”
