The International Organization for Migration (IOM), continues to demonstrate its commitment to build capacity with government organizations as it relates to migration. In this regard, IOM has embarked on a Migration Management Diploma course of study in collaboration with Galen University since last year. As a part of the course, a one-week training is being conducted at Galen University where twenty-five officers from Customs & Excise Department, the Immigration Department, Police Department, Belize Red Cross Society, and the Child Development Foundation are being trained on vulnerable migrant populations. The purpose of the training is to provide participants with in-depth knowledge on the needs of specific vulnerable migrant populations such as migrant women, migrant children, indigenous migrants, migrants with disabilities, and refugees. The training comes to an end on Saturday.
