Is the government contemplating buy back of the Port of Belize ?

Cabinet ministers met today at the House of Culture in Belize City to finalize several matters that will be taken to the House Meeting on Friday.  Love News understands that among those matters is the possible sale of the Port of Belize.  Unofficial reports indicate that Lord Michael Ashcroft is contemplating the possible sale of the port.  We waited for a confirmation from Cabinet, but one minister, Rodwell Ferguson would only respond in the following.

Reporter: Are you able to comment on today’s discussion as it relates to the government may be interested in buying the Port of Belize back ?
Rodwell Ferguson, Minister of Youth and Sports:“I cannot discuss that. Cabinet is still on and the Cab Sec will give a briefing.”

Our newsroom is following this story, and will report in our news, accordingly.  Following today’s Cabinet meeting, a Parliamentary Caucus was held, also at the House of Culture.
