Reliable information to our newsroom is that the recently reinstated UDP Chairman, Michael Peyrefitte may be experiencing some resistance from the Tracy Panton faction. We understand that the Chairman had to write to Panton, telling her quote, “I came back as Chairman on the assurance …. that you, Shyne, Hugo and Alberto had agreed on a path forward …. Hugo and Shyne and Alberto are understandably upset because they thought a deal was on the table that would enable to have the party end the fighting with each of those three making serious personal concessions. We are at a crossroads again and it seems that I have un-resigned only to come back to a situation that is exactly what I didn’t want to come back to.” End of quote. Love News understands that the upset today came after Panton had expected to be automatically un-expelled from the UDP. According to Peyrefitte, however, that would have to be done via a National Party Council meeting. We understand that the UDP has a meeting with senior party officials on Wednesday.
