Jaguars Tap Top Mexican Coaches Ahead of World Cup Qualifiers

Belize’s senior men’s football team, the Jaguars, will be working with a team of renowned Mexican coaches in preparation for two upcoming high-stakes games. In June, the team will be playing World Cup qualifier matches, an away game in Monserrat on June 4, and a home game against Panama on June 7. The initiative, titled the Belize Mexico Project, will see the team in camps working with Diego Bartolotta, Enrique Meza senior, and Enrique Meza Jr. Today, the Football Federation of Belize (FFB) held a press conference to introduce members of the coaching staff. FFB President Sergio Cho spoke on the importance of the games, while Interim General Secretary Ian Jones, noted that players will be paid to attend the camps, and share details on the program.

The FFB stressed that the Mexican coaches are offering their services pro bono for the upcoming camps.
