Jamaican Reggae Legend Pluto Shervington Passes Away at 73

Jamaican Reggae singer and producer, Pluto Shervington, passed away at the age of 73. According to the Jamaica Gleaner, he passed away minutes before 11 o’clock on Friday morning in a hospital in Florida. One of his closest friends, Ernie Smith, confirmed his friend’s passing. Shervington was not only a talented singer, but gained a reputation as a talented bass guitarist, and as a recording engineer. Shervington often performed live in Miami where he lived, and periodically returned to his homeland for performances. He also visited Belize several times. In some of his visits, he performed for Love FM’s anniversary celebrations. CEO of RSV Media Center, Dr. Rene Villanueva, spoke on his interaction with the artist.

Shervington recorded Ram Goat Liver as his first bona-fide hit after going solo in 1976. Some of his other successful hits include Dat, Your Honour, and I Man Born Ya. Pluto was married and had four sons and two daughters.
