Tonight 22-year-old James Gibson is back behind bars as he awaits his Supreme Court trial to commence for the murder of his own cousin. The Preliminary Inquiry for Gibson kicked off this morning before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser in Court and ended in a paper committal for murder. Gibson will have to stand trial for the murder of Malcolm Leslie which occurred in Sandhill on Sunday, March 30, 2019. Allegations are that an altercation ensued between the men and Leslie was fatally stabbed. At the PI, Gibson was unrepresented. Prosecutor in the case, Corporal Christopher Smith submitted 19 witness statements and 23 photographs of the murder scene along with two compact discs. Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser at the end of the PI concluded that a prima facie case was established against Gibson and committed his case to the June session of the Supreme Court where he will have to stand trial for murder.
