Police have issued a wanted poster for Honduran national Elias Pacheco. He is wanted for the chopping murder of 46-year-old Ernest Ellis Blanco in the wee hours of Saturday morning in Bella Vista Village, Toledo. A 911 call led police to the residence of 33-year-old Denia Montoya who told investigators that she was with the deceased when Pacheco, her ex-common-law showed up with a machete. Montoya says that Pacheco then approached Blanco and began viciously chopping him. Blanco managed to escape but he fell about a block away. He was taken to the Independence Poly Clinic where he was pronounced dead on arrival. Sharing further details is Police Press Officer ASP Fitzroy Yearwood.
ASP. Fitzroy Yearwood, Public Relations, Belize Police Department: “Dainya* Montoya reported that she was standing in her yard accompanied by Ernesto Blanco at the time who had recently walked her home. She’s saying that she saw a vehicle stop in front of her premises and Elias Pachecho exited that vehicle with a machete in his hand where he inflicted several chop wounds to Mr. Blanco. Mr. Blanco ran onto the street where he collapsed. He was later transported to the poly clinic in Independence Village where he succumbed to his injuries. We have since issued a “Wanted’ poster for Elias Pacheco, a Honduran national, and we have since contacted our neighbouring countries to be on the lookout for him. We believe that he’s still armed and dangerous and hopefully we could get him before he fled the country, no? Or flee the country, sorry. We’re certain that he was an ex-common-law and it looks like his jealousy put him in such a rage that he took the life of another man.”
