26-year-old Jevon Belizaire was found guilty for a single charge of harm in court today before Chief Magistrate, Sharon Fraser. He was fined $505.00 for hitting a man with a piece of lumber in his neck and punching him in the eye. Belizaire pleaded guilty to wounding but was sentenced for a lesser charge of harm. Allegations are that on Sunday, February 2 he wounded Javene Lucas. In Court he was unrepresented and wasted no time to plead guilty to the charge. Chief Magistrate, Fraser told him that she could not accept his guilty plea for wounding since the medico-legal form showed no signs of wounding to the victim. As a result of that, Belizaire was found guilty of the lesser charge of harm. Chief Magistrate Frazer imposed a non-custodial sentence of a fine of $500 plus a $5.00 cost of court fine of which he was ordered to pay by March 31 in default, 3 months in prison. Belizaire was once accused of a murder of which he walked from in early 2019.
