Over a hundred members of the judiciary participated today in a virtual training course on the Senior Courts of Belize (Civil Procedure) Rules 2025 (CPR). The training was hosted by Chief Justice Louise Esther Blenman and the Judicial Education Institute (JEI) of the Senior Courts in Belize. This sensitization was on major changes that have been made as a result of the Revised CPR 2025. The facilitator, Appeals Justice Paul Webster, stressed that the new rules will streamline civil cases and hold parties accountable with strict deadlines.

The Chief Justice commended the participants for their commitment to the advancement of the judiciary and shared aspects of the presentations she found insightful.

The Revised CPR 2025 came into effect on January 2, and represents the first revision to the Supreme Court (Civil Procedure) Rules in twenty years since April 2005.
