Twenty-six year old Keiron Salinas of Falcon Street in Ladyville, was charged with kept of a prohibited firearm when he appeared today before Magistrate Aretha Ford. Salinas pled not guilty to the charge. Magistrate Ford explained to him the she cannot offer him bail for the offence. She remanded him into custody until November 2. The incident occurred on August 30. The police reported that they were on mobile patrol on Stork Street in Ladyville when they saw Salinas. They approached him and informed him that a search would be conducted on him. They search resulted in the discovery of a homemade firearm, measuring eight inches in length. He had the firearm tucked in the waist of his pants.
