KHMH Affected by Shortage in Medication

The KHMH is also facing an issue with the availability of medication and other medical supplies. For quite some time there have been reports of a shortage of medication. The Ministry of Health and Wellness is conducting an audit of the Central Medical Stores to determine the stock of medication so that distribution is more efficient. We asked KHMHA Board Chairman, Dr Andre Sosa about it.

Dr. Andre Sosa, Board Chairman, KHMH: “That is the biggest headache for us as an institution. Certainly it is one of the biggest sources of frustration for our staff. The staff are dedicated people. They want to do their work and they want to do it safely and they can only do so when they have the necessary supplies. I visit the different wards frequently and I am able to attest there are significant problems in getting the supplies for the institution. However, there does seem to be relief on the horizon. I was able to talk to Dr. Julio Sabido, CEO of MOHW. He assured me that the flow of supplies should be regularised by October so we’re keeping our fingers crossed and hoping that they will be able to continue helping us in that regard.”
