KHMH CT Scanner Out of Service, Repairs Underway as Facility Coordinates Alternatives

The CT scanner recently acquired this year for the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority (KHMHA) is currently out of service.  Over the past eight months the machine has provided some 1500 scans, proving beneficial and efficient.  Tonight, however, the scanner is not functional.  According to the KHMHA, it is a matter of condensation that created a glitch in a hardware component.  The part has been ordered and a specialized technician is expected to arrive in Belize to have the scanner up and running.  In the meantime, the KHMH says it has been coordinating with other facilities to conduct the much needed scans.
