The Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Authority Workers Union is expressing solidarity with the Joint Unions and their stance against salary cut, corruption and their demand for good governance. A press release from the union says that whole members of the KHMHA Workers Union are not receiving a ten percent salary cut, they do recognize the devastating consequences it will have. The union says that other options need to be explored. The KHMHA Workers Union is demanding that the government expedite the changes needed to amend or formulate legislation that will ensure good governance. Meanwhile, the Belize Medical and Dental Association, The Nursing Association of Belize, the Pharmacists Association of Belize and the Association of Clinical Laboratory Science of Belize met last week and it was agreed that the best interests of essential workers are not being adequately represented at the negotiating table.
