Khris Rosado to stand trial for the fatal RTA involving PC Arcenio Cus

Businessman and deejay Kris Rosado has been committed to stand trial in the High Court for the offense of manslaughter in connection with a fatal traffic incident that claimed the life of Police Constable Arsenio Cus last year.  The committal came following the conclusion of a Preliminary Inquiry held yesterday before the Chief Magistrate. After reviewing the prosecution’s evidence, the court determined there is sufficient evidence for Rosado to face trial at the April session of the High Court.  Police prosecutors submitted twenty-seven witness statements and twenty-five documentary exhibits outlining the case they intend to present.  Rosado, who was represented by attorney Abibi Moguel, informed the court that he intends to call three witnesses during the High Court proceedings, his father, his mother, and his common-law wife.  Following the ruling, Rosado was granted bail in the sum of six thousand dollars plus two sureties of three thousand dollars each. His previous bail was revoked upon committal.  The matter has moved quickly through the lower court, marking Rosado’s third appearance. Earlier in January he was served with disclosure material consisting of more than one hundred pages of documents, photographs, and video evidence.  In addition to manslaughter by negligence, Rosado also faces charges of causing death by careless conduct, driving without due care and attention, failing to stop and render aid, and failing to report an accident.  For context on this case, we can tell you that shortly after 11:25 a.m. on July 28, 2025, officers responded to a fatal road traffic accident between miles six and seven on the Philip Goldson Highway.  Upon arrival, they found 38-year-old Police Constable Arsenio Cus, of Silver Creek Village, motionless on the road beside his motorcycle.  Investigators say Cus had been traveling from Ladyville toward Belize City when a black pickup truck allegedly entered his lane and collided with him, causing him to lose control and fall. He sustained severe head and abdominal injuries and was later pronounced dead.  Police subsequently detained Rosado at his Ladyville residence where a damaged 2009 Honda Ridgeline pickup truck was found with significant damage to the front right side and driver’s side wheel.  A post-mortem examination later certified that Constable Cus died from multiple blunt force traumatic injuries consistent with a road traffic collision.  The Director of Public Prosecutions issued directives in November 2025 for criminal charges to be filed.  Rosado is now scheduled to face trial before the High Court in April.////////
