A new police booth was opened in King’s Park area. The police booth, which will be manned twenty-four hours a day, was placed in the Lopez Mateo Park yesterday afternoon with the help of the Minister of Home Affairs, Kareem Musa. The Commissioner of Police, Chester Williams says the donation that has been in the making for a long time.
Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I want to say first and foremost thanks to the Kingspark neighborhood watch group for the donation of the booth in the Lopez Mateo Park for police officers to operate. We know that the Kingspark area has had some issues with burglaries as well as robberies and so that park we believe is strategically located for us to post police officers on a daily basis as well as to give them the necessary resources in terms of motorcycle or bicycle do to patrols within that very once quiet community. So we believe that our presence there is going to restore that sense of safety and security for the people who live within that particular area.”
