41-year-old Lee Lopez was stabbed to death after an altercation erupted between him and three other men, in Ladyville Village, in front of his home. Preliminary reports are that Lopez was stabbed with a broken pint bottle. According to Lopez’s neighbor, Antonia Cal, he was a kindhearted man who was willing to do errands for anyone.
Antonia Cal, Neighbor: “To everything I asked for Bambino, Bambino never neglected me. Like the world said ‘don’t wait until the man is dead to tell him he’s good.’ no. Bambino was a good person- nice man. To everything I told him yes he can, even when he was on his way to do some errand or work he would let me know, he would stop and do whatever I told him to be done. He is my neighbor, I did not go to sleep the whole of last night I cannot even take a doze up to this moment here. I did not hear not a noise, all I saw was the police lights. Bambino’s gone they said, that hurt me. That hurt me. I saw police, crime scene- that is all I could say. All I know is that Bambino was a nice man, he was there for anybody. He was a helping man, he was a handy man. I did not hear anything about him that he had a problem or there or
Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero told us that they already have two suspects in custody for this murder.
Senior Superintendent, Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “On Sunday the 10th day of November 2019 Ladyville police responded to a chopping incident at Heron Street Ladyville Village. Upon their arrival they found Lee Lopez with multiple chop wounds. He was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. The investigation is showing that they were hanging at that particular area drinking and an argument ensued at which point a male person chopped the deceased.”
Reporter: Do we know the nature of that argument? Was that a personal matter or just?
Senior Superintendent, Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch: “They were discussing some matter and that is where the incident originated from.”
Lopez was not known to police and leaves behind a daughter and a grand-daughter.
