Ladyville Police Step Up Community Outreach

Police officers attached to the Ladyville Formation carried out community outreach exercises in the Old Well Road and Another World areas on Wednesday.  The Old Well Road exercise was led by Officer Commanding the Ladyville Formation, Superintendent Marciano Mejia. He was joined by community policing officers, relief personnel and other available members of the formation. Officers visited residents to hear their concerns and gather feedback on policing and security in the area. Residents reportedly welcomed the increased police presence and called for continued engagement within the community.  A separate meet-and-greet was conducted in the Another World area between nine forty-five and eleven o’clock in the morning. During that exercise, officers visited twenty-five homes and spoke with residents about community safety.  The main issue identified was the safety and well-being of children living in the area. Police reassured residents that the department would continue working to maintain a safer environment through regular patrols, community engagement and other proactive measures.  Officers also distributed flyers promoting the department’s 2026 Back-to-School Haircut Drive.  Police say the exercises were intended to strengthen their relationship with residents while identifying areas that may require additional attention and a continued police presence.
