In other news, contentions over land ownership continues to brew out west in the Duck Run Three community. As we have reported, the council is looking to establish a cemetery on a portion of land that has been occupied by several residents. Police have been called out to the area this week after residents complained that they are wrongfully being evicted off the land that they have invested in over the years. The problem is that there are no land papers to substantiate the argument. Police Commissioner spoke on the matter.

Chester Williams, Commissioner of Police: “I know that yes police officers were there yesterday dealing with that matter but it’s not a matter for the police to determine who can be where. Whatever the police do must be done in conjunction with the Ministry of Natural Resources because they are the ones who would normally assign lands to people for whatever reason. So the police actions in that area will be guided by the personnel from the Ministry of Natural Resources.”
Love News understands that the villagers are exploring legal options but says in the meantime they are being harassed by the Police and the village chairman.
