Leader of the Opposition Given Ultimatum to Apologize for Speaker Comments

The Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, has until the end of this month to apologize for the comments he made about the Speaker of the House of Representatives. In August, Barrow sent an email to the Speaker accusing her of being biased and calling her a waste of time. On Wednesday, the committee met to formally address Barrow’s email and voted to have him issue an apology. Today, the Chairman of the Constitution and Foreign Affairs Committee, Julius Espat, moved to adopt that report and explained that even the UDP’s most senior member agreed that Barrow was out of line.

In a strange turn of events today, Patrick Faber, the Area Representative for Collet, agreed with the government and stated that he believes that Barrow should apologize.
