Leadership debate on its way

The People’s United Party is yet to agree to participating in a debate slated for Wednesday, October 28.  The debate is being organized jointly by the Belize Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI); RSV Media Centre and Galen University.  To date the only two parties who have officially agreed to participate in the debate are the Belize People’s Front and the Belize Progressive Party.  UDP’s recently installed leader, Patrick Faber, agreed to take part in the debate during a press conference held this afternoon.

Patrick Faber, UDP Party Leader: “I absolutely intend to participate in the debate that we received an invitation to from the Leadership Debate Committee which is made up I believe of Galen University, I think it is the Chamber of Commerce and Love FM and I intend to answer the application or the invitation I should say today to say the the UDP is absolutely interested in participating. We do have a few conditions that I will discuss with those who are organizing but it is our intent at this time that those matters be worked out and that the UDP can fully participate in such a debate.”

According to the Leadership Debate Committee, the PUP’s leader has since requested information from the organizers but is yet to confirm his participation.  The deadline for confirmation is Friday, October 23.  The debate will be carried LIVE on Love FM, Love Television, Estereo Amor, More FM and on Facebook Pages for the BCCI, Galen and Love FM./
