Life Sentence Handed Down to Leroy Haulze for Role in Jose Hilario Diaz Murder: No Possibility of Parole Until After 31 Years

The man, who kept watch during a murder in April 2021, Leroy Haulze, was handed down a life sentence today without the possibility of parole.  The case surrounded the murder of businessman, Jose Hilario Diaz, who was killed in broad daylight at his business place on Cemetery Road, Belize City.  Haulze was charged jointly with Emerson Garnette.  Haulze, was seen on surveillance footage watching out for the gun man who ran in and fired the shot. After the murder, the video footage showed Haulze meeting up with the alleged shooter before they ran off and escaped. He was handed down a life sentence without the possibility of parole until after serving 31 years.
