Long-time PUP supporter and businessman, Yasin Shoman dies

Businessman, pilot, and long-time PUP supporter, Yasin Shoman has died. Shoman was born in November 1941 and died yesterday, according to his daughter, Justice Lisa Shoman. The People’s United Party issued a statement, which reads in part quote, “The party thanks Yasin, a true son of the Belizean soul, for his life of service to the country, the party, and people of Belize and offers its prayers and gratitude to the Shoman Family during this time of bereavement.” End quote.  In a tribute to her father, Justice Lisa Shoman writes – in part – that her father was (quote) “…the kind of dad that every woman should have, tough, loving, supportive, enabling, and a feminist” adding quote “Yassin was, until the moment he drew his last breath, a lover of this nation and a proud and devoted member of the PUP – an old school party stalwart who never hesitated to give advice, solicited or not to Prime Ministers, Ministers, Area Reps, Candidates and party members whether they wanted to hear it or not. He loved his Party and gave of himself unselfishly and totally.” End quote. Funeral arrangements are to be announced later.
