The Area Representative for Corozal South West, Minister Ramiro Ramirez, is tonight being accused of assault. Videos have surfaced of a San Narciso Village Councillor Candidate alleging that Ramirez attacked him during village council elections, a claim that the minister denies. Our newsroom asked Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow for a comment on this incident. Here’s what he had to say.
Moses “Shyne” Barrow, Leader of the Opposition: “The young man Ahelia Patt who was a councilor candidate in San Narciso claims that Minister Ramirez pushed him and that is unacceptable. The type of aggression and disrespect that we see happening, violence in some instances, is unacceptable. I take this opportunity to apologize on behalf of the United Democratic Party for the actions of our vice-chairman who got physical with someone who attacked him.”
Love News contacted Ramirez for clarification and he told our newsroom that he has no idea of the alleged incident, denying the claims. He says that the UDP is making the allegations because they are losing the village council elections.
