LOO Supports the Launch of a Commission of Inquiry into the Sugar Industry

During the peaceful protest staged by the Belize Sugar Cane Farmers Association (BSCFA), the Leader of the Opposition, Moses “Shyne” Barrow, was front and center in support of their cause. The BSCFA was loud and clear about their demand for the Government of Belize to act swiftly and convene a Commission of Inquiry into the Sugar Industry of Belize. It seems the government heard their cries because the government announced that it would officially launch a commission to examine the sugar industry and evaluate its viability. Today, Barrow weighed in on this decision, and he says he hopes the two major parties involved will be receptive to this one.
