Love FM Southern Tour: Visiting Hopkins Village Ahead of Settlement Day Celebrations

Love FM’s southern tour continues this week, with the team visiting Hopkins Village today. Love’s Armin Arana and Paul Mahung visited the Lebeha Drumming Center today, where they saw a hudut-making demonstration and live drumming. They also spoke with village residents as they prepare for the settlement day celebrations on the 19^th. The team spoke with the mother-daughter team Dhalia Mirnada, and Shameka Martinez, business owners in the village to learn how they took their passion for their culture into their livelihoods.

The team also spoke with Garifuna artist G King, who was the winner of the Garifuna Song of the Year Competition last weekend. G King spoke on his passion for music and storytelling, which led to him crafting the winning song.

The team is in Seine bight tonight for a cultural performance.
