24 participants of the Love Foundation’s One Stop Job center programme have graduated today. These participants are from the Caribbean Shores constituency and the collaboration was made by Area Representative, Kareem Musa. According to Tyesha Estrada, Job Developer for Love Foundation, the programme was a success and the participants graduating today have 2 or more job interviews to attend within the next few weeks.
Tyesha Estrada, Job Developer, Love Foundation: “The program has been very successful. We have placed to date over 75 people already, like from in the past to now but speaking on this program itself in the Caribbean Shores constituency we have job offers from eight different companies and those companies lie between James Brodie and Company Limited, we have Santiago Castillo, we have UNICEF, we have Transparent BPO just to name a few. However I believe this partnership was well needed because we pushed the participants to their full potential. You know everybody knows what is a resume and a cover letter, everybody knows how to dress for an interview but maybe they don’t know how to act in the interview, how to talk in the interview, to communicate with their interview panel and that is what the training is all about.”
Love News also spoke with the representative for Caribbean Shores Area Representative, Kareem Musa, who told us how this impacts their constituency.
Sharlenie Wilson, Secretary, Musa & Balderamos LLP: “We have a lot of young people jobless right now and I think it helps to show the young people that at times there are organizations or people willing to help but we just have to find whoever it is. This is a good idea because many young people they go out, they take their CV and they apply for jobs and they don’t even get called for an interview and at times, myself as a young person you feel like there is no hope for you and with the Love Foundation these people train you, they basically tell you what to do and what not to do and what to expect and what not to expect, how to act and they actually go out and they fetch these jobs for you. All you have to do is apply and be ready so that is the good part.”
Next week another cohort will be graduating from the Mesopotamia area.
